"The Dove Family"

This is a remembrance I have of when my Dad was at home in his final day's, there was so much peace in their home at that time, a peace I cant describe, but I wanted to stay there all the time and just soak up, God was there most definitely, I'm sure that was the peace I was feeling in those few day's, as you all know my dad died at the sweet young age of 59 of brain cancer, he was the most gentlest person you'd ever want to meet, and could make any one laugh, he was short but stalkey and his hugs where very secure feeling....firm but gentle and the love you felt from them was just amazing to me, my dad would lay on the couch cause the cancer went to his bone's and he hurt so much, but he'd try and act strong, any way's he'd lay there and watch this nest of dove's for month's and one day I asked him"Dad, want are you just staring at?" he patted his hand on the couch for me to come over, and of course I went I could never get enough of this man, more so now, and he pointed his finger to the window, and I looked and saw these doves with 2 babies in their care, we sat there and watch this family for a while, and I looked at him and he said "Mom and Dad are trying to get the kid's out of the house, and they don't want to leave" "Like me" I asked, he just giggled... 3 day's later my dad left this world and Larry had to pick me up from work, my brother Joe, my dad's daughter from his first marriage, we were all sitting on the porch waiting for the mortuary to come, and I was looking at the dove's and babies still there, the parents had been working hard to get them to leave, but these children were not budging, and when they wheeled my dad out......the children left their home, and past right by the 3 of us sitting on the porch as if to say "See ya" I had to tell my brother, and step sister what took place a few days prior, about dad and I watching the family of dove's, and when I see a dove I am reminded of that day, to some they are a pain in the kisser, but to me they are beautiful creature's, there is one that comes around to my front yard every morning and I just simply love it, I put piece's of bread crumb's out for it, and tell it "Hello, how's the family?" and remind it to come back and visit some more............

That is so neat! I have had a Dove come and sit on the fence everyday I am outside for the last 2 months, and it just looks at me.

It is so comforting. Doves have a special place in my heart. I think they are messengers.
Sending you love, Nita
