Our Family Adventure
Let me think about what I can blog about that goes with today theme?? Well we didn't travel far but it's got what I think is a cute ending, kind of...This one time Larry and I took the kid's to an amusement park in Stockton it's called Mickey's Grove, it's a small little park but lots for little kid's to do, train ride around the park, rides, food and souvenir vender's, nice picnic area, it's just a sweet place to go for the day, Amanda was o I'm thinking 7 maybe, and John was 5, they were just little folk's, before going into the gate we gave the orders to the kids about not to adventure off, will kid's that little already have the attitude" I know" it's was excellent day in spring not to hot, the grass was green, baby blue ski's, the whole nine yards for a nice outing, before entering the park there's an area with covered picnic tables and a swing, we did a "Potty Run" and Amanda and myself came out, we were standing there waiting on Daddy and John, well Daddy came out he stood there we were chatting away and said "Larry where is John?" in the bathroom he said, I said with eyes open REAL WIDE, you might want to go and check on him, make sure he didn't fall in the toilet!! he goes in and came out with no John, and this look, o the fear I felt, here we where in a park with hundreds of people, I didn't want to leave my spot just in case he came back cause we always told the kids if you get lost go back to the first place we were at all together, Larry goes looking, I'm crying thinking the worst of course ,over at this covered picnic area was a AA reunion going on, food, games, kid's, music, and I thought to my self if I was a 7 year old little boy, where would I go? That's right,Id be right over there with all the fun, sure enough John had met some little kid they were playing and some adult standing right beside these boy's, this man said," Is he your child" yip, he's mine, I said John why did you leave the bathroom with out your Dad?, Momma, he said this boy asked me if I wanted to play with him while I was washing my hands and I thought Dad knew, I thanked the man for keeping an eye on him explained my side of the storey to him, and the least we could do was let this new friend of John's, he had made in 15 minutes or so go, inside the park with us, and you know it turned out to a great day, I remember praying"O God, please don't let any one hurt my child in any way shape or form" and he didn't, if any thing John was having a good time at the reunion, and so did we, all 5 of us, I think about that once in awhile, and wonder about the people that was at the AA reunion, there was so many of them, and the neatest thing of all was Larry had just gotten out of NA rehab program about year and half before that!! God does work mysteriously...........
