" This came to my mind....."

This morning, as I was drinking my first cup of coffee, this came to my mind, as I thought about the words in the first paragraph I got the chills, and thought to my self "This is so true for all of us in this world, to accept the things I can not change" I can try with all my might to change somethings around here, but I am NOT in control of any of it, so I will try to accept things. I'm going to try and find this prayer on a plaque and hang it some where so I can read it everyday! I remember when my husband was in rehab for drugs, and this was in some paper's when I finally let him come back home, I read it then, but didn't truly understand it, after all I was a co dependent and a former user myself, who went clean on my own, had too had a baby coming,and I had some what of an attitude, and I just read the words, that was 15 years ago, since my husband went through rehab and that my husband has been clean, myself 19 years ago, and as I write this little bit of information, I am crying, not a cry of sadness, but a cry of joy, but there is some pain that is associated with it. Isn't it strange how God will allow something to pop out at us, just out of the blue, for no reason,so we think, but in all reality....it fits my life today, and he knows , he knows everything, even before any of us do. I know so many of you have read this, but REALLY read these words and soak them in, reread them a couple of times if you have too, and it will be like light that someone just turned on, and you'll say "Now, I know, or Now I understand"
The Serenity Prayer
Path

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

I love that prayer. Over the years I've done some faith development courses and read many other prayers, but that one certainly hits home every time. I think of it every time my son says he's quitting school to join the army, I think of it every time he says he's walking back to his room at 3 a.m. I think of it every time he says he's having a fireworks display and party. Thank you so much for sharing such an intimate part of yourself. God is good ALL THe TIME. Have a great weekend you just made mine.

Hi Sweet heart, Oh this is a gem yes...
The proverbs 3:5-6 is the very first scripture I ever memorized some 27+ years ago...
I can remeber meditating on it.
Homeless taken into a widows home to clear out insect invested food. To clean. and such...

What a path I have walked all along these many years.

Trust is a risk. Risk taken in small measure and increasing increments has saved my life.
I had to prove HIM out that He is trustworthy.
Fair to easy to trust blindly, as a gullible person. To know why I trust him has really given great power to the faith I rest in.

Rest as your trust is a living growing force.
