" Jack", God, and memorey"

I just got done reading Joni's blog and something struck up in me.....we have a patient in the hospital a fairly young guy, who was in given to an Aunt to raise while his parents moved back to Mexico when he was 15, he's been in and out of juvenile hall most of teenage years, and then got in a gang, he killed people, and I know this by his tattoo's by his eyes, the tear drop's, and in and out of jail Lot's of time's, I will call him "Jack", Jack just got out of jail again, and had been clean and sober for almost a year due to being in jail, and he had been drinking and using again and got in an 4 wheeler accident, and had severe brain trauma, will I had the honor of working with him the other day and before entering his room I prayed, cause I was a little scared, I wont lie....told him who I was and told his family and his so called "family" I will be the only one telling him what to do, that I do appreciate them wanting to help, but with head injuries, they get confused real easy if to many people are telling him what to do and I shut the T.V. off and everything, the families where real nice to me....now keep in mind I might have told "Jack" my name twice, and I started to kind of tell him about how much God loved him and how lucky he was he's still alive and that he had all the angel wing's protecting him and so on....I looked at him and he had tears coming out of his blood shot eyes, I apologized for making him cry and he put his skinny bruised up arm around my neck, and I thought..."O this is it, he's going to try and hurt me" cause we all know Satin doesn't like it when were talking to his so called kind, and he hugged me and gave me a peck on my cheek, I got all tearyed eye of course, left the room cause I was done with my treatment with him and thanked God for allowing me to be there in that room with "Jack" was off the week end and didn't see "Jack for a few days and today I walked by his room and he saw me and yelled......"AAAANNETTE" backed up and waved, ALL of the nurses where just amazed by that, that he could remember my name so they all took me in there with his Neuro surgeon and said "Jack....who is this?" "Annette" he responded back, I weaked at him and smiled from ear to ear with water in my eyes, and he weaked back. God defiantly was working.......it's thing's like this that make me love my job.
