"Country living"

Happy Tuesday to all....Johnanthon and I went running around town so he could put applications in, he's tired of working in the heat, and it was nice spending time with him, and sometimes I wonder"what would I'd be doing if I didn't have children?" I cant picture myself with out children I always wanted children at least 1 so I wouldn't have to grow old with out showing something for my time and my love, I really didn't care if I ever got married, all I knew is I wanted at least 1 baby and I was blessed with 2, cant get any better then that!! Today I've been thinking about the house my Mom, Gilbert, and myself lived in out in the country allot, don't know why I hated living out there then, but would give any thing to live there now, I learned how to drive out there on those old roads with huge pot holes and cracks, so maybe I'll take a little reminiscing drive this week end and drive by and see what the old house looks like, I'd love to go and see in the inside and see what kind of changes have been made and tell the people who had what room to sleep in and so on, I hope they enjoy living there as much as we did, my parents moved in town after my mom had breast cancer, and my dad semi retired, I am so glad those walls cant talk, cause if they could they sure would tell some pretty funny stories as well as not so pretty ones and tell all of my secrets, I would be in so much trouble....I use to sneak my dad's truck out on Friday or Saturday nights when my parents would go play cards and drive until my heart was content and I'd try real hard to follow the same tire marks back in the drive way, and Gilbert always knew but he'd never say anything to Mom, but once I got pulled over by the sheriff and he said "I know your not old enough to drive, how old are you?" "14" I said, "who's your parents" was the next question, "Gilbert and Joyce Medeiros" "Do you live on Moffett Road" I shook my head yea, he goes, "Get your Dad's truck home and don't let me catch you again" and boy I did, I didn't mention I had my German Shepard dog as well in the back, a few days passed and up pulled that same sheriff, man my stomach was just twisting my heart was beating so fast, and my Dad was out side talking to him, mom said "I wonder what he wants" I said "O he's probley looking for Jeff" that was Gilbert's oldest son who was ALWAYS in trouble with the law, Gilbert came in sat down on couch, looked at me and started laughing, I didn't say a word, just kept watching t.v. Gilbert said "Annette......first thing I know you've been driving by the way you park, second thing the sheriff stopped by to tell me I had a blinker out, and third...he said you drive pretty good for 14" Fun, fun time's, teenagers dare don't do that now, and I'm so glad I could!!!!

I don't remember this story! How funny...when I think back to all of the things we got away with when we were kids...we were just lucky we lived out in the country. I remember "stealing" my dad's truck too...we were wild! Gilbert was always a good sport about everything...it will be interesting to learn what our own kids have gotten away with when we didn't know it...the stories always come out a few years later...thanks for the smile this morning!
