" ReFreshEd"

I woke this morning to the smell of fresh rain!! it had sprinkled during the wee hours and I simply love it, all shades are open and the slider door to bring in this wonderful smell, now maybe ALL of us in this house wont be sneezing and sniffling around, the ground just soaks it all up up like "water me, sweet mother nature" I remember once, o it was back in 1995 we were having terrible floods out here and I was coming home from some where and Amanda and Johnanthon were with me, and John, he asked, "why is it raining so much mom?" I tried to explain to them , but he was just not getting it, ADHD children want to know everything, and you've got to go into the smallest detail, and not leave anything out at all....I finally said, "O God's sink is over flowing" and he rolled the window down as it's pouring out and yelled, "God, please turn off your water" as I write this I can remember yelling out like that to him, thinking if I yell he'll hear me better then a whisper or a conversation, but he stills answers me no matter how I talk with him when he's ready,he's still the man of the house! I've been so tired when I get home from work that I do get on read every one's blogs, but haven't written. Amanda got her prom picture and I'll try later to post it, Chris is still in the dog house with his parents so he hasn't been around and I sure miss him not coming by, he found out he's not walking stage at graduation and he feels terrible about letting his parents down, he's got to go to summer school to get his diploma, I tried to reassure him that it's not the last time in his life that he might let his parents down, but at least he's getting his diploma, and that he didn't do this on purpose, and that this is not his goal in life, and that he needs to try and talk to them about this whole thing. I am so thankful my children can and do talk to me about anything and everything, and they do, our communication line is open 24-7. I am truly blessed with such awesome kid's, and their friends are too, Amanda has a friend who like's to "party" some, and she don't hang out with her much, because of it, Amanda said "Mom, I'm just not into that stuff, I'm not going to lie to you, I've tried some stuff, but I don't like the way it makes me feel" I tell her "That's God way of telling you, it's wrong" Well my dear friends I need to go, I hope all of YOU have a excellent day, I know I will....
Love to you all..........Nettie

i love your story....about john and the rain!!!! brought a smile to my face...out of the mouths of babes!
i am so blessed too, annette, to have had and still have such an awesome relationship with my kids...open communications is sooooo important....and i love what you said to chris....good for kids to have people talking with them and supporting them...not necessarily supporting what happened...but being there to say...you are a good kid...and i'm here...and i believe in you!
hugs to you, annette and your sweet heart!
hope God's sink keeps overflowing there....it certainly is here! :)kimberly

I LOVE this rain...what a blessing...yesterday I worked in the garden most of the day cleaning up the messes the wind made and now today it is being gifted again...my flowers are sure to be thankful, I know I am! I smiled at what you said about John too, can imagine the whole scene and yes, communication is the key...a kid should be able to talk to their parents anytime about anything...I know mine do, I just hope as they grow older we can maintain this close knit supportive relationship. Enjoy your day today Nettie with the windows open and the sprinkles from God's sink...
much love to you~
