"Her own mind was made up"

Here it is Tuesday and I cant think of a treasure just it, maybe if I keep on writing something will come to me, I know I have something to blog on just cant think right now, just got done cleaning my son's F I L T H Y room, the stuff , icky, icky, icky, how about this...it's not a material thing, it's a memory, a sweet, beautiful one, When I had Amanda I never baptized her catholic, after all Larry and I didn't marry in the church, I fill out of my catholic roots for a long time, will any way, when I had her I didn't want too, I wanted her to make her own mind up on what religion she wanted to follow, but I would put my big size 10 feet down on a few, she went to several different churches when she was younger, then in Jr. High she started going to the catholic church with the neighbors, and she came home one Sunday, at the age of 12 and said "Mom, I want to be baptized to the catholic church", I was very hesitant at first, we met with the priest and he asked me if I was catholic and then he asked if the Dad was, "No" I replied, Father Dean said" Well what happens if Dad doesn't want her to be baptized in the catholic church?" I leaned forward in my chair and said,"He doesn't have a say so in the matter" he asked if I was married to Dad, and again I replied, I support her 100%, so months later she was baptized, Father Dean used her as an example, after all she was the only child being baptized that could walk, the rest where all infants.....he brought her up front and asked,"Amanda, why do you want to be baptized?" she said very nervously "In my heart I know it's the right thing to do" we had no idea Father Dean was going to do this, this was not rehearsed, he then told the church how proud he was of her for making this decision on her own, most teenagers would not want to do this unless they were being made too, he had me stand up, and he said,"Mom, did you push this joyful celebration on her?" with tears in my eyes and a smile "No God gets the credit" I told the church, "It didn't matter to me cause I knew God would lead her to where he wanted her to be at, and I didn't care as long as she was plugged in somewhere being fed the word and the love of God was present" Father Dean just looked at me and said, "We have all been blessed by that comment" so my baby girl was baptized at the age of 13, what a remarkable young lady I have the honor to call my daughter and next week that same baby will be 18, and she's not leaving home until she gets married, or unless I pack her stuff for her first lol.

Oh Annette, that's exactly what God wants from all of us... to chose Him over everthing else.
