" A Day Of Silence"
This may bother some, and I am truly sorry if it does, I don't mean to, it's something close to my heart. Today is "Day Of Silence" it's a day where you take a vow to be silent for the day, for the gay, lesbian community in our school's, these children are harassed by other class mate's. It's held in memory of Lawrence King, the 8 grader that was killed by a classmate because of his sexual orientation. My daughter is participating in it, she and a few of her other classmates have gotten into some heated argument's, and Amanda has told them, what I've taught my children. "It's not our job in this world to judge anybody, but to love them for who they are!" I thought that's my girl, she told one girl who is a gang member, "I like you (and said her name) and I don't judge you cause your in a gang, I like you (and said a name), again I don't judge you cause all the boy's know who you are", she said Mom all we can do is pray for each and every one of them, and I said your absolutely right. I am so proud of her for standing up for something she believes in, one of best friend is gay, and he had to move because he couldn't handle it, I know God didn't make Adam and Steve, and it's a life style I don't chose or push, but they are still humans with a heart that feels every bit of pain that is casted on them, either verbally or physically....I had a step brother who was gay, and some of my best time's I had with him, he died of HIV, about 2 years after my dad died, so with saying all that I probley wont do the silent thing very well, but I will be silent in prayer and pray for all of them and their families.

that is why i love you, annette.....you are you! and i love that! sounds like you have done a wonderful job of instilling love and compassion in amanda....i agree annette.....aren't we blessed that we don't have to be the one to judge? i have enough to take care of in my own life, i certainly don't need to be judging what everyone else should be doing with theirs!.....but i can pray.

I'm getting a recollection here...Anthony? Wasn't that his name? I forgot about him but remember his energy. He was living in the back of the house on Moffett that was actually a house within a house right? This is exciting for me because it proves I really don't have alzeheimers!
I have a couple of dear sweet friends that are gay and while I don't fully understand their choices, that's ok, they probably don't understand some of mine either...I don't even understand some of mine...but I still cherish their friendship...don't know if I could do a day of silence either...that would be a tough one, so good luck on that one!

Joni...your not getting alzeheimers!! yea he was Gilbert Jr. but we called him Tony, and yea he did live in the "back house" out at the ranch, it was an old dairy home at one time, ENERGY, the boy diffently had it, he was so much fun (with a smile)
I thought I remembered him! It's funny how time goes by and little reminders will trigger a memory...I have many memories about when you lived in that house...teasing the bull (not one of the smarter things we've done), driving Gilbert's truck (fun!)and helping you get your chores done...fun stuff and here we are in our 40's...good gracious!
